It's a bit early to say anything conclusive about whether there will actually be a save editor, game trainer, or even other modding tools; however, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to spare a little time to tell me where your interest lies.
If you can't find the right question, or wish to elaborate on your answer, I would appreciate your comment!
Giveaway: I'm giving away keys for DISE and future Dying Light save editor to those who have the best suggestions! See details below.
Follow me on twitter to get the latest updates as soon as they're available.
Would you like a save editor for Dying Light?
Would you like a trainer for Dying Light (PC)?
Edit: I've become aware of a trainer made by MrAntiFun. If his trainer is good enough, then I don't need to prioritize making one of my own. My potential future trainer would however be compatible with all possible versions of the game, and include a super-jumping feature; maybe even an in-game overlay depending on how much effort it's sensible to put into it.
What would be a good name for the Dying Light save editor?
DISE is a cool name because it's pronounced just like the word "dice"; had DISE been split into two versions (one for Dead Island, one for Riptide), a fitting name could have been RISE, because it's similar and can be pronounced just like "rice".
Now the question is: What's a good name for a game-save editor for Dying Light?
My first idea for a name was "Dylise" (Dying Light Save Editor) and similar variants. I don't think it's a bad name, I just don't feel that it's the best name.
Please choose the name you prefer or comment with a suggestion.
Giveaway
Suggest a good name and – as a small token of appreciation – I'll give you premium features for DISE for free! If there will be a Dying Light save editor and premium features, you'll get that as well for free in the future!
Exactly when you'll get your free key(s) hasn't been decided yet, but I'll need time to actually receive suggestions, and of course review them suggestions internally. I might post another poll later with all of the suggestions, or just the best ones.
Rules:
- Please elaborate a little bit, not just list a random word without any further explanation as to why you suggested the name.
- If someone posted a suggestion before you, theirs will count and yours won't. You're free to comment more on the name but it won't earn you bonus points.
- You don't have to be one of the first to suggest a good name. Even if you're last, your suggestion counts!
DISE 2.0
ReplyDeleteDISE2
Dying light seems to be the true sequel or the game they actually wanted to make first so 2 or 2 point oh wouldn't be too far off
SEDL: Save Editor Dying Light. Pronounced like settle but with DD instead of TT.
ReplyDeleteDLSM (dying light save manager)

ReplyDeletePersonal Save Editor for Dying Light. Or PSEDL
ReplyDeletePersonal Save Editor for Dying Light. Or PSEDL
ReplyDeleteDying Light Save Enhancement Manipulator
ReplyDeleteThe save editor should be called - Saving Light.V1.Morning Edition
ReplyDeleteAnd there is already a trainer out for this game from mrantifun over at:
http://mrantifun.net/index.php?threads/dying-light-trainer.3179/
a Light Shining in Darkness - LSD/SaveEditor
ReplyDeleteDawn Breaker - DB/Save Editor
a Light Shining in Darkness - LSD/SaveEditor
ReplyDeleteDawn Breaker - DB/Save Editor
Those ideas are quite terrible.. xD They have nothing to do with the game. Using wordplay you could use names such as "DSLE" or "Dying Save - Light Edition/Editor" or something else that at least pertains to the name of the game. Haha
DeleteGenuine suggestions are actually just what I need in order to pick a fitting name. Thank you, Matthew! :D
Delete@Coltyn - Yeah, they're pretty awful aha. But there's not much you can do with DL.
DeleteUhm... Are you at all aware of the fact that MrAntiFun had already made and shared a Trainer for Dying Light prior to you posting this thread? o.O;
ReplyDeleteI've become aware of this. I can however think of a feature my potential future trainer would have, which the others don't seem to have at this time: Super-jumping (jumping really high). Also, I would do my best to make my trainer compatible with all versions of the game.
DeleteI've updated the post and mentioned his trainer!
DeleteThe Super Jumping factor would be fun to do in open areas, but in doors it could be an issue for sure. Hah. I managed to get myself stuck in a building by leaping from one wall to the other. Had to resort to suicide to get unstuck from it. Lol
Deletedielightdie
ReplyDeleteSimple and has a touch of mainstream to it. Either way I can't wait for a save editor, thank you for your work mate
To everyone who suggested names so far, thank you!
ReplyDeleteKeep the name DlSE because it can mean Dying light Save Editor and with the "L" being lower case it looks like a capital "I" and maybe you can keep the Dying light Save Editor in the same tool as Dead Island because the raw save data seems to be identical.
ReplyDeleteRead the latest patch notes. They blocked cheating by editing files but I know youll find a way ;).
ReplyDeleteI think this regards modding the game's *.pak files. There may be a solution for that quite soon! :)
DeleteMaybe DLiSE (Dying Light Save Editor)
ReplyDelete"Saving Light" because it's a "save" editor for Dying Light.
ReplyDeleteDying "Zed" Light
ReplyDeleteor DyZL for short
DL:SE (Dying Light Save Editor)
ReplyDeletePretty simple but straight forward. Gets pronounced as is - letters.
(Dee Ell Ess Eee (hmm sounds kinda like DLC but with an extra half syllable))
--if thats not "fun" enough--
DlightSE -or- Dlight (Used D from Dying and all of Light)
Creates a more unique name. "Save Editor" might not be needed as it can create an identity of its own. Plus Dise and Dlight, for some reason compliment each other quite well.
Have a few other ideas but don't feel like spamming more ;)
DLTT
ReplyDeleteDying light tampering tool
Because we are tampering with our save games.
No? Anyone?
I'll find my own way out
DSE
ReplyDeleteESDL = Editor Saves for Dying Light
ReplyDeleteSorry, my idea is not that good. >_>
But honestly, DYLSE or Dylise is pretty good. It sounds easy to pronounce and remember
D4L Dying 4 Light
ReplyDeleteDYLIGHT, pronounced "delight"

ReplyDeleteWhen the editor gonna be released?
ReplyDeletei think HOPE should be appropriate...needs a lot of HOPE if it's getting dark...
ReplyDeleteDLumptious Save Editor (DLumptious SE)
ReplyDeleteDelumptious - (de-lump-shous) The state/act of bein delicious and scrumptious at the same time.
The best I can think of are DYSE (DYing light Save Editor - seems obvious enough that it's for Dying Light, even if it is lacking an L), SEDY (Save Editor for Dying Light - pronounced CD), and ADE (After Dark Editor). They're all relatively simplistic and quick off the tongue, though DYSE is my favorite just because it's similar to what's already there. I hope any of these are suitable names, or at least spark an idea for something better. Thanks for reading.
ReplyDeleteDLSE Dying Light Save Editor
ReplyDeleteCheating light, I used to play starbound alit and i remember there was an inventory/save editor called starcheat that i always used. this is kinda the same concept
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it did post or got lost, but just in case, i was suggesting "DySEL". Liked how that is close to Disel, even thought hat means shifting the letters in a different sequence.
ReplyDeleteIf only Inventory then maybe D-LIE (Dying Light Inventory Editor) OR if more then DYLSE (Dying Light Save Editor, there is a plant in a quest it's called "Dulce", looks similar would be cool to have an ingame reference, even if its a very small one
ReplyDeleteASEDL (Advanced Save Editor for Dying Light)
ReplyDeleteor simply GNGL (Good Night Good Luck)
I really like DISE... sounds like Dice and at night... things tend to get Dicey :3
ReplyDeleteDylight Editor
ReplyDeleteTbh stefenn the best names are DYSE, DYLISE, AND DYLSE, I am puttinf this straigjt and simple because I understand the stress you have to go through for a name.
